Position Overview
Black Twig Marketing + Communications is seeking a Strategic Accounts & Client Relations Manager to provide senior-level account management, representing Black Twig as manager and legal chief executive for various associations. This unique position requires a balance of account management, association leadership, and business development.
The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations for client associations, build and maintain strong external relationships, lead events and initiatives, and support new business development for Black Twig.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Association Executive Leadership
- Provide Executive Leadership (Executive Director) for trade associations, including overall responsibility for all aspects of their operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Draft and execute strategic plans, proposals, and budgets.
- Act as lead liaison with association boards, committees, and member companies
- Create and drive strategy, lead board and committee meetings, liaise with national industry and local counterparts
Client Promotional Initiatives
- Drive promotional, outreach, and educational (seminars, in-house presentations, project visits, networking, and other initiatives) to advance the commercial interests of client organizations
Event Management & Representation
- Oversee all aspects of client association operation, management, strategy, growth, membership, and delivery of services to members and target audiences
- Organize and implement meetings, training programs, promotional events, and other activities.
- Coordinate and oversee annual events.
- Represent client associations at conferences.
- Manage logistics and represent clients at annual meetings.
Marketing & Business Development
- Collaborate with Black Twig’s team to integrate PR and marketing initiatives across client organizations.
- Support Black Twig’s growth strategy by contributing to new business efforts.
- Earn commissions for new business initiated and closed (10% first year, 5% second year).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in marketing, PR, association executive management, event planning, or client services.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
- Works effectively both independently and in team settings
- Willingness to travel for conferences, client visits, and events.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Starting at $65,000 annually.
- Commission: 10% on new business in year one, 5% in year two.
- Vacation & Leave: paid vacation, 3 personal days annually, 11 company holidays, 5 sick days, plus additional leave options.

Work Schedule
Standard operating hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (1-hour lunch). Flexible shifts may be accommodated (e.g., 8:00–5:00). Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and business travel (20+ nights per year) are expected to meet client and event needs.
