Peabody Energy joined forces with Black Twig in October to plan and execute a dedication ceremony for an historic locomotive that Peabody Energy restored and donated to the Museum of the Coal Industry in Lynnville, Indiana. The locomotive had originally served the coal industry in Southern Indiana from the 1940’s to the 1990’s.
Black Twig worked with the museum to plan a morning-long event, starting with an early breakfast where raffle tickets were sold for a $5 donation to the museum. Breakfast was followed by children’s activities including coloring, toy train sets and face painting. The dedication ceremony began at 9:30 and many attendees came early to get good seats. During the dedication community members spoke about the importance of Peabody Energy to the local community and of preserving history.
Tinker Bell’s dedication ceremony drew a crowd of about 150 community members in the small town of Lynnville. Read more in the Courier Press.
